Free Digital Resources
Care leavers can apply for free access to digital devices (laptops/tablets) and 4G routers for anyone without internet access. This service is provided during the UK lockdown and the service is distributed by a local authority, academy trusts and schools.
If you would like support with contacting your local authority you can email the Care Leaver Covenant on help.team@childrenscommissioner.gov.uk (there is also option to find your local authority)
The Children’s Commissioner can also help to ensure you receive the support you are entitled to from your Local Authority so if you have any difficulties in accessing this support please email them or call them on help.team@childrenscommissioner.gov.uk | Tel – 08005280731
Job Opportunities
Download the Convent app to check out paid and volunteer job opportunities nationwide, you can filter to your region.
The app is designed to work offline, so once it is installed you don’t need to rely on having WiFi or an internet connection to be able to use it. This also means it won’t be using any of your phone contract data.
Coram Writing Competition
Share your experiences during Covid-19. If you are in care or a care leaver between the ages of 4 and 25, submit a poem, story, rap or song lyrics under 500 words about your experience of COVID-19 and you could win some brilliant prizes!
